General Information

The Tropical Forest Foundation is an international, non-profit, educational NGO dedicated to the conservation of tropical forests through sustainable forestry. TFF has become widely recognized for establishing demonstration models and training courses to show the advantages and teach the principles of sustainable forest management. TFF’s regional programs have become synonymous with the promotion and training of Reduced Impact Logging (RIL). The TFF’s Board of Directors includes a balanced membership from industry, government, science, academia, and conservation. In supporting the goals and activities of TFF, each member of the Board has an interest in seeing tropical forests sustained and renewed.

The Southeast Asia and Pacific Program of the TFF is focused primarily on Indonesia, the home of the largest area of tropical forest in the Region. TFF’s core activity is in practical training for RIL on a request basis. Increasingly, however, issues such as legality, market linking, and certification support have been integrated into the services offered by TFF-Indonesia.

To maintain it’s relevance and effectiveness, the TFF-Indonesia program, maintains close links with like-minded institutions and organizations.

  • Agung Cahyanto  - Tanya Tentang Menjadi Peneliti di Lembaga TFF
    Selamat siang.
Perkenalkan nama saya Agung Cahyanto, alumni jurusan Kesejahteraan Sosial FISIP UI Depok. Saya ingin bertanya tentang beberapa hal:
    1. Apakah lembaga TFF membuka kesempatan untuk menjadi posisi peneliti (bukan relawan/volunteer) tetap di lembaga TFF?
    2. Jika benar membuka, bagaimana saya bisa mengajukan permintaan (lamaran) untuk menjadi peneliti di lembaga TFF?
    Terima kasih atas bantuannya
    Salam
    Agung Cahyanto
  • Jius Awang  - Looking for oppurtunity
    Hi..greeting to all at TFF,

I am one of the pioneers of RIL, being the officer-in-charge of the RIL Pilot Projects in Tawau & Lahad Datu, Sabah Malaysia. I am very glad that RIL has been adopted and implemented in tropical forests elsewhere and in particular, in Indonesia. Back here in Sabah Malaysia, the implementation statewide took almost two decades since the completion and success of the Pilot Projects. However, the current practice of RIL here is more simillar to conventional logging than the actual RIL.

My expertise in RIL is rendered futile as there is no place for sincere implementation of RIL in the state. Due to that reason, I feel I can contribute to my full capasity, to any company or country outside of Sabah, who sincerely implement RIL. I am ever enthusiastic in contributing to the conservation of the world's tropical forests and I am ready to work abroad. I hope TFF can help me connect to any RIL practicing company, anywhere. I hold a B.Sc (Hons) Degree in Int...
