Organization

The headquaters of the Tropical Forest Foundation (TFF) is located in Alexandria, Virginia. An Executive Director coordinates Regional Programs based in Brazil, Indonesia, Guyana, and Gabon. Biannual board meetings ensure close participation from an international slate of Directors, many of which have close involvement with TFF’s Regional Programs.

Each Regional Program operates under specific funding arrangements and manages individual programs directly.

TFF’s clear sense of direction owes much to its Board of Directors, who despite their diverse backgrounds, share a strong agreement on key principles, that :

1. To conserve the tropical forests, it is necessary to ensure that they maintain their economic value to all stakeholders, and,
2. To improve the management of the tropical forests, representatives from concerned areas should forge alliances rather than remain adversarial.
