PT Hanurata II - Concession

HII PT Hanurata II - Concession This 209,670 ha forest management unit is one of three concessions controlled by the Hanuratta Group in the Papua provinces. The concession is located northeast of Kaiman in West Papua province. At the present time, company only extracts Merbau from this concession at a rate of less than two trees per hectare.

TFF’s Involvement
TFF has conducted a base-line assessment against legality and CoC standards to assist the company to prepare for a third party audit.

Current Status
The company has been awarded a VLO certificate by Smartwood and TFF.

PT Mamberamo Alas Mandiri - Concession

M PT Mamberamo Alas Mandiri At 691,700 ha, this is the largest timber concession in Indonesia. First active between 1992-2002 under the Kodeco Group, the concession has lain dormant till new ownership reactivated operations in 2006. The company is still building up its human resources. This concession is located along the West bank of the Memberamo River in Papua Province.

TFF has conducted a base-line assessment against legality and CoC standards to assist the company to prepare for a third party audit.

Current Status
Two RIL training session have already been delivered and a repeat of all three RIL modules is being planned. The concession has joined TBI  certification support facility and has already had a pre-assessment audit.

PT Yotefa Sarana Timber- Concession

YST PT Yotefa Sarana Timber - Concession This 182,000 ha concession is a member of the KLI Group. The concession has been in operation since 1992 and is a major supplier for the KLI industrial complex in Sorong.

TFF’s Involvement
TFF has conducted a base-line assessment against legality and CoC standards to assist the company to prepare for a third party audit.

Current Status
The company has not yet indicated its intentions regarding a continued engagement.

PT Bina Balantak Utama - Concession

BBU PT Bina Balantak Utama - Concession
This 325,000 ha concession is a member of the KLI Group.

The concession has been in operation since 1992 and is a major supplier for the KLI industrial complex in Sorong.

TFF’s Involvement
TFF has conducted a base-line assessment against legality and CoC standards to assist the company to prepare for a third party audit. The company recently signed an MOU with TFF to engage in RIL training and technical support for certification.

Current Status
Field activities will commence before the end of 2012.

PT Henrison Iriana Arar Sorong - Industry  (Location - Sorong)

HIAS PT Henrison Iriana Arar Sorong This industrial complex belonging to the KLI Group, includes a plywood mill processing peeler logs from the company’s Papua concessions and producing finished plywood.

In addition, the complex includes a sawmill which cuts primarily Merbau into rough lumber which is then processed into finished product at the companies industry in Semarang, Central Java.

TFF’s Involvement
TFF has conducted a base-line assessment for CoC to assist the company in preparing for a third party audit.

Current Status
A CoC training session is being planed.

PT Wapoga Mutiara Timber II - Concession

wmt PT Wapoga Mutiara Timber II - concession This 196,900 ha concession is located on gently rolling terrain some 5 hours drive west of Jayapura.  Well over half of the concession is still virgin forest as Wapoga begins operations under its second license in mid-2012.

TFF’s Involvement
In the past year, TFF has completed three RIL training inputs to the concession. Smartwood has issued a VLO certificate under a TTAP sponsored project.

Current Status
TFF has recently signed an MOU with Wapoga in which the company commits to full implementation of RIL.  The company has also joined TBI certification assistance under the TFF technical support.

PT Manokwari Mandiri Lestari - Concession PREVIOUSLY WORKED WITH TFF

 

MML1 PT Manokwari Mandiri Lestari - concession This 83,240 ha concession located in the "neck" of West Papua province in the most recent concession to engage in TFF's verification of legal origin program in Papua.

TFF has conducted a base-line assessment against legality and COC Standards to assist the company to prepare for a third party audit.


Current Status
Waiting for follow-up response from MML and its industry sponsor.
