BackgroundIn mid-2007, the TFF officially launched it’s
“Forest-Market Linking Program”. This program combines determination of legality, establishment of chain-of-custody systems, and adoption of reduced impact logging (RIL) as defined by a set of criteria and indicators. All elements of this program are subject to third party verification.
TFF has developed this program in order to encourage the adoption of best practices in forest management by offering credible market recognition and preferential market access.
A number of Indonesian forest concession companies have requested formal recognition of their efforts to adopt a RIL management strategy. This Workshop is the final step in the TFF
“Forest-Market Linking Program” and will be the basis for drawing up a list of auditors eligible to conduct independent verification of compliance with the criteria and indicators of RIL.
Auditing companies wishing to qualify for auditing contracts will have to propose field auditors who have participated in this training workshop.
Workshop ContentThe Workshop will be primarily focused on the technical aspects of how to interpret the criteria and indicators of RIL in the field, including the preparation of an auditor report.
The Workshop will also review the legality and CoC standards which are applicable to “Forest-Market Linking Program” compliance audits, as well as the protocols related to the running of the Program.
A detailed workshop agenda will be distributed once attendance is confirmed.
